On Feburary 23, 2017, the Co-ordinator of Li Ka-shing Foundation (Hong Kong) Beijing Office, Hebin revealed that Li Ka-shing Foundation has being putting over HK$20 billion to date to help education reforming and further medical research. Mr. He indicated that disability charity has always been the focus of Li Ka-shing foundation. According to statistics, the honorary president of YRIC Li Ka-shing has contributed more than 400 million Hong Kong dollars to support services for the diabled in mainland China.

The China Disabled Persons’s Federation announced the establishment of the Cheung Kong New Milestone Plan seventeen years ago made possible by a HK$100 million donated from Mr. Li Ka-shing. The programme have been implemented 3 stages from 2000.

"Care for your disabled neighbors" is one of the "Yangtze River New Mileage Program" sub-project, made possible by a 20 million HongKong dollars from Li Ka Shing Foundation and it has supported more than 200 disabled services, encouraging social organizations to participate in disabled services in Heilongjiang and Hubei Province.

According to Peng Bingquan, the Deputy Director of the Association of Chinese Federation of Disabled, in order to ensure the proper conduct of these projects, Li Ka-shing foundation decided to increase the special funds and entrust professional social workers to guide whole projects.
