16 January 2017, Du Zhuo yu, Director of YRIC, Chairman of Wuhan Heavy Duty Machine Tool Group recalled that summer to Yangtze River Daily reporters after a meeting with front-line workers.

Three years ago, Xi jingping, President of China, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), investigated Wuhan Heavy Duty Machine Tool Group, and asked about the development history as well as the core technology of this company. Mr Du recalled that President Xi will immediately put a key question as soon as he answered one.  After 40 minutes inspection, President Xi Jingping stressed the importance of scientific innovation in the field.

After the departure of Xi jingping, Du Zhuoyu compiles Mr Xi’s instructions into a text, and broadcast it every morning at 7:30 in the company radio. All members are encouraged by this. After three years and a half, Wu Zhong Group sees some millions of profit from the net loss of 180 million yuan in 2014. The spirit of craftsmanship plays a central role in this.

In president Xi Jingping’s 2017 New Year message, he called on his people to roll up sleeves and work with added energy. Du Zhuo yu interpreted it in the way that we must seize opportunities with no hesitate, and put in a solid effort from top to bottom.
