Wuhan International Chambers of Commerce Club opening ceremony

Built in 1905 on the Yanjiang Road, the U.S. Consulate in Wuhan will usher in a new master, and the Renaissance of Wuhan will have an innovative platform. On December 12, 2016, Wuhan International Chambers of Commerce Club jointly sponsored by YRIC, Wuhan Foreign Investment Service Center and Wuhan Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment was set up. YRIC Executive President Mr. Liu Meng was elected President of Wuhan International Chambers of Commerce Club. Six Projects including Bawang International Group,  Confucius College, Beijing Liangxiang Culture and Shenglin Finance Holdings Group and so on were signed in Wuhan. More than 100 people including the former secretary of CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee Mr. Feng Jichun, vice mayor of Wuhan municipal government Mr. Shao Weimin and other foreign guests attended the event.

International Chambers of Commerce Club is an innovative platform put forward and promoted by the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee. It will be located in the United States Consulate (Station Road No. 1) founded in 1905 in Hankou. And the club will belong to “the International Chamber of Commerce in the central service area " and one of " home in Wuhan "projects, which reflects the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee and Wuhan municipal government pay high attention to the club and the strategic vision and determination to the innovative development and the great renaissance of Wuhan.

The Conference

It is reported that International Chambers of Commerce was created by fifty-six foreign banks and business organizations in Wuhan as early as more than 100 years ago in the late Qing Dynasty, which played an important role in the coordination of trade disputes, promotion of cooperation between banks and interactive business information. Even after the outbreak of the Revolution of 1911, Mr. Pan En, the president of the chamber of commerce at that time was also involved in the negotiation of truce agreement between the north and south, which is the history of Wuhan International Chambers of Commerce. Wuhan International Chambers of Commerce Club was established today, which not only marks  the inheritance of the International Chambers of Commerce but also marks it subordinates to and serves the development strategy of "One Belt and One Road" and "Yangtze River Economic Zone". To develop Wuhan as one of national center cities and the great renaissance of Wuhan will have a new platform, a new carrier and a new way.

The ceremony gathered many Chinese and foreign guests including the British Consulate General in China Business Consul Mr. Chris Butland, chief representative of the Australia Trade and Investment Committee Mr. Xiao Mu Russia-China Council chief representative Mr. Shilin Sergey, Bawang International Group founder Wan Yuhua, Peking 1898 College President Wang Liangzhi, Beijing Liangxiang Culture chairman Ma Yingying, chairman of the Confucius foundation, the Confucius International School founder Kong Lingtao, Secretary General of the World Chinese Business Association Mr. Liu Yanshen, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Chinese Chamber of Commerce Wang Gang and hundreds representatives of chamber of commerce witnessed the establishment of Wuhan International Chambers of Commerce Club.

President of Wuhan International Chambers of Commerce Club Mr. Liu Meng said at the opening ceremony, the club will have a great development by setting up a global business school, International Chamber of Commerce Festival and a central service area, and will create a chain among the club, the global chamber of commerce, foreign investment and Wuhan to make the club to be a platform for foreign investment in Wuhan by taking advantage of its objectivity, neutrality, endorsement and precision.

In the opening ceremony, six projects were signed in Wuhan including finance, real estate, culture, education and the Internet such as the listed cosmetic enterprise Bawang International Group, the Confucius School which firstly purchased the British noble school Diana school, the global fashion opera platform Beijing Liangxiang culture, Peking University 1898 College, Chinese business association which has nearly a thousand business associations as well as Russia-China Council with the member enterprise income occupying nearly 40% of the Russian GDP. The first global chamber of commerce school sponsored by YRIC which has nine chambers in the world with more than ten thousand members shows its potential of multidimensional investment.

The Conference 

The club will also found the International Chamber of Commerce festival to invite the world's outstanding chamber of commerce to Han, and hold different forums, business communication, trade negotiation, project roadshow and investment and to gather chambers of commerce through the club, to gather overseas outstanding enterprises and entrepreneurs through chambers of commerce, to achieve Wuhan investment and talent recruitment through outstanding enterprises and entrepreneurs, and to created the polymerization effect of overseas investment in Wuhan through the International Chamber of Commerce Festival.

President of Sheng Lin International Finance Holidings Group Mr. Luo Zhijian at the meeting said that as a real estate group with a strong financial background will invest the central service area development and construction of International Chamber of Commerce to support the internationalization of Wuhan. In accordance with the overall planning of Wuhan, the central service area will be a collection of working, trade, culture, catering, apartment of  foreign chambers of commerce including the office area, culture exhibition area, commodity fairs, diplomats and business executives apartment area. The club will serve as the International Chamber of Commerce central business district offices, to attract global trade associations and international enterprises and provide more convenient conditions for expatriates in Wuhan to let them live a happy and comfortable life in Wuhan, so that they really put Wuhan as their second hometown.

Mr. Liu Meng said in his speech December 12th was a special day when the club's founding members will carry forward the spirit of "one world" of Mr. Sun Zhongshan and keep pace with the revival of Wuhan and the world's economic development and keep pace with the realization of the global village "China dream"!
