The meeting


On October 25, 2016, Scotland culture minister, member of Scottish Parliament Anne McTaggart, the UK China Investors Club founder Mr. William Franklin and member of the British YRIC preparatory team Chen Lulu visited YRIC Wuhan Office, YRIC Global Executive President Mr. Liu Meng had an in-depth exchanges and negotiations on the preparatory work of British YRIC and matching the English and Chinese projects by holding forums and promoting cultural and educational communication between Scotland and China local government.

In the meeting, Scottish Parliament culture minister Anne McTaggart said this is the first time that I came to Wuhan, Hubei, China. She hoped to build a bridge for China and Scotland cultural and educational exchanges through the platform of YRIC and to establish friendly relationship and promote political and business cooperation and development. Anne said that Scotland had old schools and high-quality education resources and she sincerely invited Mr. Liu Meng to bring entrepreneurs to visit Scotland and have a further cooperation. Mr. Liu Meng expressed his hope to promote a pragmatic tour in Scotland as soon as possible.

On September 26, 2016, China Investors Club with 5000 members and YRIC signed a "strategic cooperation agreement” in London, Mr. William Franklin visited Wuhan this time in order to implement the agreement and specify the cooperation plan that he would bring  British entrepreneurs in 2017 to negotiate the investment in projects of health-care, finance, high-technology and other related fields in Hubei. Mr. Liu Meng also said he would bring Chinese entrepreneurs to investment in Uk, involving the UK real estate, technology and financial cooperation and acquisition to seize the golden opportunity following the Brexit. Subsequently, they had a discussion on the property of British YRIC and other preparatory work.

Anne McTaggart  is a member of the Scotland Parliament and Minister of Culture. From 2003 to 2009, she was for social work services in the Glasgow Council; from 2009 to 2012, she served as a senator in Glasgow. From 2011 to 2016, she served as a member of the Scotland Parliament and Minister of Culture, responsible for energy, economy, tourism, and budget review for European and international affairs.
